Amazon

How can Amazon refine its marketing strategy for Prime Student to boost customer retention and maximize market potential on college campuses?

The Process: Our consultants worked with the Amazon Student Prime team to understand the retention issues before diving into primary research. They surveyed students across 35+ universities, and conducted focus groups to track the customer journey with navigating the Student Prime home page. After, they compiled their research and presented their findings to the Amazon Student Prime team for feedback and review across various Amazon departments.

The Solution: AIM consultants identified two main barriers: students using parents' accounts and lack of awareness of student-specific benefits. They recommended shifting marketing focus from the 6-month free trial to highlighting exclusive student benefits, emphasizing strategic partnerships, and optimizing SEO and UI/UX design.


DoorDash

How can DoorDash effectively position its newest product, DashPass for Students, on college campuses for its April 2022 launch?

The Process: Our consultants worked with the Head of Brand Marketing to understand the product before launch. They surveyed 32 campuses on student food habits, held a focus group for a customer journey audit, and evaluated student-based subscription competitors. The findings were presented virtually to five key DoorDash marketing team members for review and feedback.

The Solution: AIM consultants devised strategies to engage college students nationwide, including loyalty programs, promotional campaigns, and strategic partnerships. DoorDash implemented targeted promotions and limited-time offers, with more strategies in progress.
