AIM looks for students who are self-starters and bold enough to think outside the box. We want our members to think deeply and analyze problems, contribute positively to a team environment, and always remain curious and open to learning. We believe creativity can be found anywhere and, in line with that value, are not looking for any specific type of individual. We encourage all grade levels and majors to apply as previous business experience is not a pre-requisite. All new members are equipped with the necessary knowledge to succeed as a consultant through our new member curriculum. We ask that our applicants be honest and their authentic selves throughout the process. We look forward to meeting you soon!

Our recruitment process has three rounds to holistically evaluate your fit within our organization. Different executive board members evaluate each round, ensuring at least five members review your application by the final round, for a thorough and fair assessment.
Written Application: The written application consists of a resume drop and a mix of open-ended short form and long form questions to exhibit your creativity.
1st Round Interview (Behavioral): The first-round interview is a 30-minute session conducted by 2-3 AIM executive board members. The interview is designed to get to know you better, gauge your potential fit with AIM, and assess your ability to critically work through a creative problem.
2nd Round Interview: The final round interview is a 1.5-hour group case with 2-3 AIM executive board members advising. You'll receive the case a few days in advance and work with 4-5 anonymous applicants. You will have 40 minutes to discuss the case, followed by a 10-minute presentation and a 5-10 minute Q&A. During this round, we are looking to see how you individually conduct research, break down problems, and integrate new ideas as you work with your team to reach a solution.

AIM historically selects between 4-8 members each semester. However, there is no set quota as it is dependent on our organization's and clients' needs.
-
No. Although AIM is a Marshall Recognized Student Organization, we welcome students from all academic backgrounds. Academic diversity is vital to our success, with our consultants representing over 30 majors and 10 USC schools.
-
New AIM members can expect to commit 4-6 hours a week to the organization. This encompasses our weekly general meetings, team meetings, client meetings, presentations, and individual research for our clients. We expect all of our members to prioritize AIM and deliver high-quality results as they would for an academic course. Outside of project work, we have social engagements for our members to bond and get to know each other better.
-
At AIM, we pride ourselves on creating unique projects tailored to each client’s needs. Each project is designed to be a new experience. Our projects are typically a 10-week engagement in which you will be working alongside your team to identify issues your client faces and create long-lasting solutions. Although each project is different, all of our consultants emerge with stronger problem-solving, data-analysis, and presentation skills.

Our members gain hands-on experience in identifying and resolving business challenges, conducting thorough data analysis, and crafting compelling, data-driven recommendations which are highly sought after in any professional field.
